For landlords
Section 8 pre-inspection for Dayton-area landlords.
Failing the housing authority inspection can delay your HAP payments and cost you a reinspection trip. A pre-inspection walks your unit against the same HQS items first, so you fix the right things before the official date.

What we check
- Room-by-room HQS-based walk: smoke and CO detectors, GFCI outlets, handrails, windows that open and lock, egress
- Hot water heater and TPR valve, utilities on, peeling paint (pre-1978 homes), pests, trip hazards
- Written fix list, ranked with life-threatening items first
- Optional recheck after repairs
- For landlords with voucher units in Montgomery, Greene, Miami, Butler and Warren counties
Important: this is not the official housing authority inspection and does not guarantee a pass. The housing authority makes that call.
To get a quote, send the unit’s city, number of bedrooms and your inspection date through the contact form or by email.
